Located in the Old Methodist School Building on Western Road in Clonakilty, the West Cork Regional Museum, is a gem, run by a voluntary committee. It includes a number of exhibits covering the political history of the region from 1800. There is special emphasis on Michael Collins and guerilla leader Tom Barry, Mary Jane Irwin, Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa, the postal service, the GAA and West Cork railways. Also featured are lace and crochet displays.
Clonakilty Museum covers the political, social and folklife aspects of the area. Suitable for children (accompanied by adult) / Parking is available nearby on main road.
